The History of the United States usually begins with the date of 1776, the official declaration of independence! However the territory that is now know as the united states
was first occupied by Native Americans followed by European colonists such as Christopher Columbus around 1492. Large settlement originated around the East coast around 1607 by the English. Thirteen colonies had risen
by the year 1770 with over 2.5 million people. The start of political and legal systems emerged. Then came the American Revolution followed by the first President George Washington. Another war of independence around
1812 set the standard for things to come. The US territory expanded rapidly to the West then North and beyond in the coming decades. Many events followed which would shape the United States to where it is today.
